Junior Marion Lewis, OSHA’s outreach trainer, was arrested and charged with mail fraud and conspiring to defraud the United States Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for fraudulently selling OSHA’s safety training certification to certain construction companies without requiring workers to complete the training.

Between March 2009 and June 2010, Lewis allegedly bought and sold multiple 30-hour OSHA outreach training certification cards without requiring his payees to complete the outreach training for $200-$300 each. It was alleged that Lewis obtained these training cards from an agent who worked in the Office of the Inspector General, New York City School Construction Authority.

Lewis was arrested after attempting to sell an OSHA safety training certification card to an undercover agent.

If convicted, Lewis faces a maximum penalty of 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
